Ok, people always talk about their favorite modification, but what was your worst mustang modification ?

I have 2 mods ive always regretted. First is the 5 bolt conversion, i always loved the way she looked with ponies, after i swapped i new i made a mistake.

2nd, turbo kit Waste of cashola and time. Decent power but just took the fun out of the car.

What about you guys, any mods not sit well with you ?

The only mods that I found to be a waste is puttin in a system. At first its great I was very happy then I just found that it annoyed me.

I had strobe lights in the headlights of my old fox, never really used
them and the lenses on the lights went yellow. Now Big Nick just
gives me a slap in the head, I mean convinces me not to do anything
stupid like that,LMFAO.

Rick, other than liking a factory rim on your car what didn't you like about the 5-lug conversion?

So why didnt you just buy the 17" Pony replicas in 5 bolt instead of the ghey 17" FR500s???? Those would looked better than 17" FR500s hahah just buggin ya, but you shoulda gotten them in 18s!!!!!!

What mod did I regret?? When I did a cheap 5 bolt conversion on the front of my red vert and replaced just the rotors instead of doing the SN95 front upgrade..... I couldnt run my '98 Cobra wheels due to hub size so I wound up trading them for a set of Mille Miglia 17" 5 spoke wheels. They were nice, but I still would have liked the Cobras better.

I had came close to buying 5 bolt ponies, but then i thought, meh.

Part of me thinks should have kept it stock, but then the "fun" side of me says GO FAST.

Still nowhere close to complete.

Untill my recent SCT tune I was actually regretting the H/C/I swap...drivability/idle/hot start issues were really taking the fun out of driving the car. Since the tune she's been a little princess....a part of me though still misses the 2.73 geared, quieter (draws less unwanted attention) less hardline performance of a stock hp car with its tired old suspension and greasy street radials. strange but true...I REALLY enjoyed driving her in stock form.

I agree,I think too many mods on my 89 took the fun out of driving it.Killer car nothing wrong with it but in my old age its a pain to take out and drive for the hassels and insurance/costs it incures.I have a 94 gt daily driver that I can really drive it hard and the car loves every minute of it and no hassles...LOL

There's no doubt, our hobby is expensive and time consuming, and my theory for a long time has been, if you can't drive it on the street and enjoy it, why even bother having it.

The fun part is having a 700hp car/truck that isn't requiring constant maintenence....something that, once together...you change the oil, keep gas in it and drive for 2-3 years before you worry about anything.

Also the more I think about it, while it's fun to bang gears on a 5 speed.....any motor over 450-500 hp is gonna require a friggin clutch straight from an Enzo or Viper and there's no smooth launches with those..streetability goes out the window pretty much.....other than being expensive, I'm really not sure why more people don't run auto's in thier cars.

My car eats t5 transmisions so a part of me says put a c4
with a trans brake but as Nick said the car is useless I you cant
enjoy it, and I love to bang gears in my car.
