First there is the New York Auto Show press days next week in which it's has now been announced that a 2008 Shelby GT-500 KR special edition Mustang, of which 1000 copies are to be built, will make its debut. That car is said to be coming to showrooms in the spring of 2008.
What about the already announced 2008 Bullitt? Wait, that's another story.
Ford announced on Wednesday that they will also be partnering up with Carroll Shelby on yet another special edition Mustang. This new Shelby Mustang will debut on Saturday, March 31st between 6-8 pm eastern on live television at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Auction. Yes, once again a new Shelby Mustang #001 will roll across the auction block to be sold for charity. Ford has said that 500 copies of this car will be made. So, that differentiates this vehicle from the aforementioned Shelby GT-500 KR.
Carroll Shelby and Ford's President of the Americas, Mark Fields will be on hand for the debut and the subsequent sale. Prepare for another mansion mortgaging affair. Is this getting old yet? Well even if it was, I surely would not say it here.
