I just pulled the carpet out on my 65 stang and i found some surface rust, so i got my wire brush grinder and started cleaning the rust and i found a few holes in my floor pan. I dont think it is too bad, but if it needs replacing i will have it replaced. I was thinking about getting a wire welder and filling in holes and grind smooth. What do yall think needs to be done.

i think you should either cut out that area of metal thats rusted, or try finding a company that makes floor panels for classic ford's. i have seen some companys like that. if not just go ahead with welding

welding the holes will just prolong doing it right. It looks. from your pic that the rust is from outside in. Cutting patch pieces from sheet metal can be a chore,, When I did my floors 8 years ago the flooe panels were cheap, could be now also. It's a very long process if your a backyard welder.. But worth it when done.

The rust is actually from inside out. The car has been in a barn for eight years, but not getting wet. Most of damage to seats a panels is from RAT urine, they tore all the seat up. When this guy told me about car, he didnt look at it for those years. But the rest of car is in great shape, since he was the original owner, nothing has been replaced so i have a matching numbers car.

If the rust is only in a few places, then "have at her" with welding up the holes, I wiil say a patch would be better than just pluging the holes. It's good to hear that their is still some good mustangs hidding in sheds and barns. The upl. is easy to find "NPD" has most colours listed. I have seen the stuff and it fits well as well as looks good. Good Luck.
