Hi, can anyone give me some advice on checking level of the convertible top reservoir of my 65 Mustang. The hopeless manual I have says nothing about. I have the back seat out & there's a steel filler (screw in) plug on one end of the pump (right ride). Is it ok to just unscrew this a put something in to check level. Do I fill it up to the bottom of hole and what type of fluid should I be looking for? The top has been operating ok, just thought I better give it a check seeing I had the rear seats out. Any advice would be much appreciated.

You can use transmission fluid. Don't fill it up to the top. The resivoir needs to be 3/4 full and thats all.
