I have a 68 fastback 289 with a holly carb.I have driven it twice in 13 years.I always started it two or three times a year it ran good. this year it is blowing out alot of black smoke .can anyone tell me what the problem is?

i am not very auto machanicly inclined.I just did a rear seal instale with the motor still in the car.useing a haynes repair manual.so far no leaks.how do i check the choke.if i had the money, i would send it to a shop.

Yep sounds like your car is running "rich" this means too much fuel.

You will have to adjust your carburator.
