I was told this was decent forum, all I see when I came in here is abunch of ignorant ass hats. Yes the II had its Faults- first year without a V8 option, but as stated it still ranks as the 5 highest single year sales figure in Mustang history, so they must have done something right. There is a reason that hot rodders use the II suspension, the same reason that all the years of mustang that followed the II still use the same principals in thier front suspension design- IT WORKS! I will gladly put a II up against a fox any day on a road course, and we'll see who's laughing at who at the end of the day.
The V8 issue for the 74's is easily fixed. The fact that the brick stangs looked like an escort Gt isn't
When was the first year of the 5.0 designation? That's right ladies, The 1978 King was the first to use the 5.0 designation on it's body, not your foxes! 1979 the first year of the fox kept the 5.0, but then ford dropped it in 1980 for yep a 260 2bbl rated at 116 hp- lower than any year of the II's 302, as far as that goes it was only SLIGHTLY stronger than "those damn German powered" cologne 2.8l v6's in the II(105 horse)
Name for me 1 yes only 1 design element of the fox that even resembles ANY of the orginal design elements of the Mustang? There are alot on the II that can- that was the idea of the redesign- to get the mustang back to its roots as a smaller car, from the growing boats of the early 71-73's.
Yeah that looks really close...
Shall we go on?
