Tail Light Interchange - On Fox body Mustangs (1979-1993) the tail lights from the '79-82 Mustangs are all interchangeable, and the tail lights from the '83-93 are interchangeable. But the '79-82 sets will not change with the '83-93 sets - at least not a direct bolt-in because the holes in the tail light panel are different. Like anything else though you can get the sets to interchange with a set of tin snips, some spare sheet metal, a rivet gun, and some silicone.
