Hi everyone. I have an '88 mustang notchback. Just put in a rebuilt tranny last week and a new clutch kit (not sure what name, my buddy put it in and hes on vacation now). I have a pro 5.0 shifter on the way from the states. Was wondering what the best cutch cable would be to go with. I know pro 5.0 makes a clutch cable, but it would take me a while to get it. Is it ok to be matching all different brand names? The only one I can get in town now is a Ford Racing. Any thoughts?
After driving around for a while the shifter gets tighter. Clutch pedal still depresses easily but it gets harder to shift. I was driving yesterday. I was in third and couldn't get the car back into first or second. Was lucky to hit every light and get back home. Had to put the car in neutral and push in to my parking spot. Got in the car today and tried shifting. It was tight but shifted. Never went for a drive though. Does this sound like the clutch cable?
Thanks for any advice.

I have the frpp cable installed and have had no trouble out of it. I am sure your gonna get the adjustable quadrant etc. But I wouldn't think it would make too much difference mixing parts such as that. But from my experience, this doesn't sound like a problem with the clutch cable. You would feel that in your pedal, not in the shifter. Perhaps the shifter wasn't installed correctly or maybe the stops were not set right, I couldn't tell without feeling it I guess. Hope you get it figured out, and hey atleast you don't have a slush box.
