So I test drove the Cobra vert, let me tell you it drove like sh*(*%$^t. Found out it had $16,000 worth of collision repairs on the right rear quarter panel area. It definatly contributed to its noisy and mis-aligned rear-end. It was at a dealer and the salesman was straight up about the repairs, he said the dealership will look after the 4-wheel alignment. But I'm thinking that won't solve it, I will pass on this one.

If the car was hit that hard its junk. Pass and keep looking because if you ever wanted to sell it you would get raped on the price

Yup your right, the price was too good to be true...$31,000 , too bad though it was a nice and clean white vert. Very rare, because I found out only 128 cobra verts made in white in 04.

I would buy a car that was hit in the front, but never will I buy a car hit in the rear. They just never drive straight, whereas a properly repaired front end collision will almost certainly drive straight. Nearly every car I've seen that was written off due to a rear collision "dog walked" after repair.

personnaly i would go with a rear hit car, too many mechanicals in the front and especially if the car doesnt start u never know what kind of damaga has the accident caused to the motor, tranny, and pretty much everything in the front. i seen a few cars repaired from the behind drove pretty straight. or even the side.

Have you ever worked at a body shop??? Take it from me, as I have and I've personally bought and sold many hit cars. Rear end collisions are always a pain in the ass to fix, with a front accident you always assume the worst and factor that into repair costs not the other way around.

I prefer to buy cars not hit at all

Not knowing any better, i would assume a rear hit would be better than a front hit.

Definatly easier to flex a body from the back than the front. Not as much holding things together back there, not nearly as ridgid as the front....since the front subframe supports a lot more than the rear.

Yea sure a front collision could damage the motor, but engines are fairly simple devices they require fuel, air and spark to run, if your engine doesn't run , one of those is the problem, and thank god we live in a world of computers where you plug in and you can find out EXACTLY what's not working right.
