I've used various brands over the years. I've found a few problems and tricks depending on what you want.
If the car is static (like in a show booth) any brand is good. If you are driving, less is more. Most of the cheap stuff will simply spin off or dry.
I've found that the more goop you put on, the more dust you are going to attract. I'm old school and like a matte finish that has little gloss.
Your basic Armour All works well for daily use. Make sure you scrub the side wall and LET IT DRY 100%.
Spray on lightly and let it sit in the sun for up to an hour. (Now's the time to use that detailing wax on the body or vaccuum the interior. Or lie to your friends about your latest racing accomplishments.)
If there's a few spots that didn't get the Armour All, then use a soft rag with some sprayed on and LIGHTLY touch the missing areas.

Rule of thumb, is nooooooooo-touchie.

Stay away from that gawd awful Simoniz clear stuff.
